Health Shield partners with Aberdeen Football Club.

We’re excited to announce that we’re now confirmed as the official Health and Wellbeing Partner of Aberdeen Football Club (AFC). Our partnership will see us providing health and wellbeing initiatives and education to staff, supporters, businesses and employees in the north east of Scotland. The goal (if you pardon the pun…) is to effectively assist the Club in bringing about positive change for people in the local community.

The Dons (as they’re commonly known in Aberdeen) compete in the Scottish Premiership and have never been relegated from the top division of the Scottish football league system since they were promoted way back in 1905.

During a launch event at the club this week, our CEO Courtney Marsh presented to other partners of the Club, plus representatives from local businesses and the media, alongside AFC Commercial Director Rob Wicks and AFC Central Defender Mark Reynolds (all pictured here).

The decision to partner with the Club is based on our strategy to extend our accessible health and wellbeing philosophy to communities and businesses further within – and beyond – our traditional markets.

Rob commented: “Given the Club regularly engages people of all ages in activities that promote good health and wellbeing, it made perfect sense to partner with Health Shield, a brand synonymous with quality, passion and insight in the sector.”

Courtney added: “We feel privileged to be the official health and wellbeing partner of AFC. As a Friendly Society with a long heritage and a reputation for putting the needs of our members first, we see natural synergies with AFC in terms of bringing about positive change to local communities.

“Together, we aim to improve the health and wellbeing of as many people as possible – including AFC staff, players, fans and employees of local businesses in Aberdeenshire.”
